01Overview

A local Queue Management & Service Analytics solution designed to modernize how businesses and government offices handle physical customer lines. Instead of traditional paper ticket systems, it uses QR codes and real-time digital dashboards to manage flow.

02The Problem

— Context

Where the workflow broke down.

Organizations with multiple branches and service windows — from government offices to university registrars — were stuck with physical queuing systems that devolved into chaos during peak hours. Customers had no way to know their position in line without being physically present, staff had no tools to manage flow across multiple service points, and administrators lacked visibility into wait times or bottleneck patterns. The result: wasted hours for customers, overwhelmed staff, and zero data to improve the process.

03Challenges & Solutions

Each pain point above mapped directly to a system response. Below, the field-observed challenge on the left and the shipped solution on the right.

    Customers had no way to know their position in line without being physically present, wasting hours of their day in branch.

    QR-code self-registration issues live tickets to mobile devices, with wait status broadcast over WebSockets so customers can step away without losing their place.

    Staff had no tools to manage flow across multiple service points and were overwhelmed during peak hours.

    A unified Staff Admin Dashboard surfaces call-next, serve, and complete/no-show actions across windows — every state change reflects instantly on live boards and customer devices.

    Waiting customers had zero passive visibility into queue status while seated in branch, forcing them to refresh phones or ask staff.

    — Solution

    WebSocket-powered TV display boards mirror queue activity in real time as numbers are called, served, or completed — eliminating manual screen refreshes.

    Administrators lacked the structure to scale a single queueing pattern from one office to multi-branch institutions.

    — Solution

    A five-tier multi-tenant hierarchy — Super Admin → Organization → Branch/Campus → Service Point → Window — isolates data per tenant while letting permissions flow through the org tree.

    Customers scan a QR code at a branch or via a public hub to select their desired service and instantly receive a digital queue ticket (e.g., "REG-001") with a live view of their wait status on their mobile device.

    WebSocket-powered TV display boards update in real time as queue numbers are called, currently being served, or completed — giving waiting customers full transparency without checking their phone.

06Architecture & Tech Stack

— How it's built

Built on the TALL stack (Tailwind CSS, Alpine.js, Laravel, Livewire) for a reactive, server-driven frontend with minimal JavaScript overhead. MySQL handles transactional queue data with support for multi-tenant isolation. WebSockets power real-time updates across live boards and customer devices. Deployed via Docker containers with automated SSL through Let's Encrypt.
