01Overview

A Farm-to-Market Enterprise Resource Planning system designed to manage the entire lifecycle of an egg production business — from the moment eggs are collected at the farm to their distribution across multiple shops and their final sale to customers.

02The Problem

— Context

Where the workflow broke down.

Agricultural businesses managing poultry farms, warehouses, and retail points of sale were relying on manual logbooks and disconnected spreadsheets to track egg production, inventory movements, and sales. Daily yields went unrecorded or miscategorized, supply chain wastage was invisible, staff shift discrepancies in cash and stock were discovered too late, and high-value expenses lacked any approval workflow. Management had no centralized view to compare production across farms or understand true inventory valuations — making data-driven decisions impossible.

03Challenges & Solutions

Each pain point above mapped directly to a system response. Below, the field-observed challenge on the left and the shipped solution on the right.

  1. 01

    — Challenge

Daily yields went unrecorded or miscategorized in manual logbooks, making source damage rates invisible.

    — Solution

Digital production logging captures gatherings by farm and categorizes yields by size (Jumbo, Large, etc.), exposing damage rates as first-class production analytics.

  2. 02

    — Challenge

Supply chain wastage was invisible across farms, warehouses, and retail points of sale.

    — Solution

Multi-location inventory monitors real-time stock across simultaneous sites, manages delivery logistics between them, and logs wastage at every transfer point.

  3. 03

    — Challenge

Staff shift discrepancies in cash and stock were discovered too late to hold anyone accountable.

    — Solution

Automated shift-end reconciliation calculates discrepancies on clock-out, holding workers accountable for the cash and stock handed off during their shift.

  4. 04

    — Challenge

High-value expenses lacked any approval workflow before being finalized.

    — Solution

An expense approval pipeline routes high-value entries through management before commit, while day-to-day operational costs (feed, logistics) are logged inline.

  5. 05

    — Challenge

Disconnected spreadsheets left retail and wholesale sales prone to overbooking reserved stock.

    — Solution

A POS & Sales Hub processes retail and wholesale transactions with dynamic pricing, and a VIP reservation system syncs with live inventory to prevent double-booking.

  6. 06

    — Challenge

Management had no centralized view to compare production across farms or understand true inventory valuations.

    — Solution

Executive dashboards transform raw operational data into interactive charts and stat cards — visualizing production comparisons, sales trends, and inventory valuations.

04Key Features
  1. 01— Feature

    Production & Yield Tracking

Digitally logs daily egg gatherings, categorizes yields by size (Jumbo, Large, etc.), and calculates production analytics like source damage rates across multiple farms.

  2. 02— Feature

    Multi-Location Inventory

Monitors real-time stock across simultaneous warehouse and retail locations, manages delivery logistics between sites, and logs supply chain wastage at every transfer point.

  3. 03— Feature

    POS & Sales Hub

Processes retail and wholesale transactions with dynamic pricing, featuring a VIP reservation system that syncs with live inventory to prevent double-booking of reserved stock.

  4. 04— Feature

    Shift & Staff Management

Tracks staff clock-ins and automatically calculates shift-end discrepancies to hold workers accountable for cash and stock handling during their shifts.

  5. 05— Feature

    Financials & Expense Approval

Logs day-to-day operational costs like feed and logistics, routing high-value expenses through management approval workflows before they're finalized.

  6. 06— Feature

    Executive Dashboards

Transforms raw operational data into business intelligence using interactive charts and stat cards — visualizing production comparisons, sales trends, and inventory valuations.

Plate 01Executive Dashboard
Raw operational data turned into business intelligence — production comparisons, sales trends, and inventory valuations at a glance.
Plate 02Farm Collection & Yield
Daily gatherings logged by farm and categorized by size (Jumbo, Large…), surfacing damage rates as a first-class metric.
Plate 03Shift & Staff Management
Automated clock-in tracking and shift-end discrepancy calculations enforce accountability for cash and stock handoffs.
06Architecture & Tech Stack

— How it's built

Built on the TALL stack (Tailwind CSS, Alpine.js, Laravel, Livewire) for a reactive, server-driven experience. PostgreSQL serves as the primary data store for production records, inventory, and financial data. Redis powers session management, caching, and real-time dashboard updates. SendGrid handles transactional email notifications for expense approvals and delivery confirmations. Deployed via Docker containers with automated SSL through Let's Encrypt.

07Outcomes
  1. 100%— Outcome

    Wastage Visibility

Full supply chain wastage tracking from farm to shelf, eliminating previously invisible losses.

  2. 85%— Outcome

    Shift Discrepancies

Reduction in unresolved cash and stock discrepancies through automated shift-end reconciliation.

  3. — Outcome

    Decision Speed
